She has been with Arts Project Australia (APA), a studio that supports and develops artists with intellectual disabilities, for over 30 years. Despite having Down syndrome, she has developed her own visual language and continues to work energetically now in her 70s.
This work, “5 7 3 Float Fall Petals 10 Trees,” is published as the inaugural volume of a new monograph series launched by Perimeter Editions in collaboration with Arts Project Australia, focusing on outstanding neurodivergent and intellectually disabled contemporary artists. It is a milestone publication that strips away conventional labels such as “art as therapy” and “outsider art,” properly recognizing and documenting her as one of the most important artists in Australia’s and the world’s contemporary art scene.
