A work by Clement Vuillier, an artist based near Paris. Through an immersive drawing style and wordless narratives, the work addresses environmental issues such as geology, resource depletion, the natural world, and the habitability of the Earth, moving between reflections on nature and its destruction, and between the vulnerability and violence of nature.
This book is a fictional botanical guide and a catalog of new species. Situated somewhere between the two, "LES SUCCULENTES" is a wordless picture book produced entirely using risograph printing. From colorful thorns and protrusions, buds and pistils, and succulent fruits to writhing roots—this book invites us into a plant world that is somehow unsettling, slightly sensual, and full of bold imagination.
